Ingredients
Main Ingredients:
- 5 medium Granny Smith apples (about 3½ cups), peeled, cored, and diced
- ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon cornstarch
- 22–24 egg roll wrappers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature (about 2 teaspoons per roll)
- Cooking oil or spray (for brushing or spraying)
Topping Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup caramel topping, warmed (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Prepare the Apple Mixture
- In a medium bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.
- Assemble the Egg Rolls
- Lay one egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface.
- Spread about 2 teaspoons of cream cheese in the center.
- Add about 2 tablespoons of the apple mixture on top.
- Wet the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, roll up slightly, then fold in the sides to form a snug envelope. Roll tightly, sealing the edges with water.
- Repeat for the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Bake the Egg Rolls
- Arrange the assembled egg rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush or spray each roll with cooking oil for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15–17 minutes, flipping the rolls halfway through for even browning.
- Add the Cinnamon Sugar Topping
- Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Roll the baked egg rolls in the cinnamon sugar mixture while they’re still warm.
- Serve with Caramel Sauce
- Serve the egg rolls warm with caramel sauce for dipping or drizzling. Enjoy!
Notes
- Use Granny Smith apples for their tartness, balancing the sweetness.
- Avoid overfilling the wrappers to ensure they seal properly.
- Serve warm for the crispiest, freshest texture.
