Description

Rich, indulgent, and irresistibly easy to make, these Eagle Brand Magic Cookie Bars combine layers of sweetened condensed milk, chocolate, coconut, and nuts on a buttery graham cracker crust. Perfect for any occasion, this quick and simple dessert will be a hit with everyone at the table.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1⅓ cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray or butter to ensure easy removal of the bars.
  2. Prepare the Crust:
    • In a small mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly moistened.
    • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to create a solid crust layer.
  3. Layer the Ingredients:
    • Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the graham cracker crust.
    • Sprinkle the chocolate morsels in an even layer over the milk.
    • Add the flaked coconut as the next layer.
    • Top with the chopped walnuts or pecans.
    • Gently press the layers down using a fork or spatula to help them adhere to the condensed milk.
  4. Bake the Bars:
    • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
    • To prevent over-browning, check the bars during the last few minutes of baking.
  5. Cool and Slice:
    • Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
    • Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
