Rich, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, these Nutella truffles are a chocolate lover’s dream! Made with just a few simple ingredients, they’re perfect for special occasions, gifting, or indulging your sweet tooth. Customizable coatings add a fun twist to these easy, decadent treats.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Nutella
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For Coating:

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Optional: chopped hazelnuts, crushed cookies, or sprinkles

Instructions

  • Heat the Cream:
    • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.
  • Melt the Chocolate:
    • Place the finely chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
    • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 1–2 minutes. Stir gently until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  • Add Nutella and Flavorings:
    • Stir in the Nutella, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined, forming a rich ganache.
  • Chill the Mixture:
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the ganache is firm enough to scoop.
  • Form the Truffles:
    • Use a small cookie scoop or teaspoon to portion the ganache. Roll each portion into a smooth ball between your palms.
  • Coat the Truffles:
    • Roll the truffles in unsweetened cocoa powder or your desired coating, such as chopped hazelnuts, crushed cookies, or sprinkles.
  • Chill and Serve:
    • Place the coated truffles on a tray and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes to set. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
  • Keep your hands cool while rolling the truffles to prevent melting.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
