Description

This Easy One-Skillet Hamburger Stroganoff is a creamy, comforting, and hearty dish that comes together quickly. Packed with savory ground beef, tender egg noodles, and a rich, tangy sauce, it’s perfect for busy weeknights or when you crave a classic, no-fuss meal.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup sour cream

Instructions

  • Cook the Egg Noodles
    • Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain and set aside.
  • Brown the Ground Beef
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked (about 6–8 minutes).
    • Drain any excess fat and transfer the beef to a plate.
  • Make the Roux
    • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes to create a roux.
  • Prepare the Sauce
    • Gradually pour in the beef broth, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
    • Continue to whisk until the sauce thickens, about 3–4 minutes.
    • Slowly add the milk, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy (another 5–7 minutes).
  • Add Seasonings
    • Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
  • Combine the Ingredients
    • Reduce the heat to low and add the cooked ground beef and egg noodles back into the skillet.
    • Stir until everything is well-coated in the sauce and heated through.
  • Finish with Sour Cream
    • Stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated for a creamy, tangy finish.
  • Serve and Enjoy
    • Serve the stroganoff hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Pair with a side of garlic bread or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
