Description

 Bright green, heart-topped Grinch Rice Krispie Treats are the ultimate holiday dessert. Fun, festive, and easy to make in under 30 minutes, they’re perfect for parties or cozy family nights.


Ingredients

  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons butter (plus more for greasing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 1/2 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 14 drops green food coloring
  • 12 ounces green candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Grease a 9×13-inch pan with butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt Marshmallows and Butter: In a large saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 10 ounces of mini marshmallows and stir until smooth.
  3. Add Color and Flavor: Remove from heat and mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 14 drops of green food coloring. Adjust the color as desired.
  4. Combine with Cereal: Gradually stir in 5 1/2 cups of Rice Krispie cereal, ensuring even coating.
  5. Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture to the greased pan. Press down with greased hands or a spatula to create an even layer.
  6. Prepare Candy Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 12 ounces of green candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round. Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil for a glossy finish.
  7. Decorate: Pour the candy coating over the Rice Krispie layer and spread evenly. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of heart sprinkles over the top.
  8. Set and Cut: Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or until the coating is firm. Cut into squares and serve.
