Description

Mini Churro Nuggets are bite-sized delights with a crispy cinnamon-sugar coating and a gooey marshmallow center. Perfect for sharing, dipping, and enjoying at parties or cozy family gatherings, these nuggets are simple to make and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water

For the Filling:

  • Mini marshmallows (as needed)

For the Coating:

  • ½ cup graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Dip (Optional):

  • Melted chocolate (as needed)

Instructions

 Prepare the Dough

  1. Heat water in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Gradually add flour to the simmering water, stirring constantly, until the dough forms a smooth ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Allow the dough to cool slightly for easier handling.

2. Shape the Nuggets

  1. Take small portions of dough and roll them into golf ball-sized balls.
  2. Flatten each ball slightly and place a mini marshmallow in the center.
  3. Seal the dough around the marshmallow, rolling it back into a smooth ball.

3. Heat the Oil

  1. Heat oil in a deep saucepan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Ensure there’s enough oil to submerge the nuggets fully, but don’t overfill the pot.

4. Fry the Nuggets

  1. Fry the churro nuggets in batches for 2–3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  2. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried nuggets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

5. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  2. While the nuggets are still warm, roll them in the coating mixture until fully covered.

6. Serve with Melted Chocolate

  1. Melt your favorite chocolate in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  2. Serve the nuggets warm with melted chocolate as a dipping sauce for extra indulgence.

Notes

  • Seal the Dough Well: Ensure the marshmallow is completely enclosed to prevent leaks during frying.
  • Keep Oil at the Right Temperature: Maintain a steady 350°F (175°C) for evenly cooked nuggets.
  • Work Quickly: Coat the nuggets while they’re warm so the cinnamon-sugar mixture adheres better.
  • Customize Fillings: Swap marshmallows for chocolate chips, caramel squares, or other fillings for variety.
