Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
  • 2¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 12 cookies)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • Warm the milk to about 110°F (45°C). Stir in the yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Stir in the yeast mixture.
    • Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
    • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Let the Dough Rise:
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, mix the softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
    • Crush the Oreo cookies into small pieces using a food processor or rolling pin.
  5. Roll and Fill the Dough:
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into an 18×12-inch rectangle.
    • Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
    • Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies over the filling.
  6. Roll and Slice:
    • Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log.
    • Slice the log into 12 equal pieces using a sharp knife or dental floss.
    • Arrange the slices in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, leaving space between them to rise.
  7. Second Rise:
    • Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake the Rolls:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Make the Cream Cheese Icing:
    • Beat together the powdered sugar, cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Gradually add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the icing reaches your desired consistency.
  10. Ice and Serve:
  • Drizzle or spread the cream cheese icing over the warm rolls.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the gooey, Oreo-filled goodness!
